Regent Lane Neighborhood Events: 2018 Gasparilla
It’s that time of year! The pirates are invading !
We usually post DTSP Neighborhood events BUT on occasion there are events around the city that bare traveling. Tampa’s Pirate themed Gasparilla event and parade is one of those events and it is the country’s 3rd largest parade. A pirate themed parade awaits you along four miles of Bayshore Boulevard up to Downtown Tampa. Find your best pirate outfit because the pirates are start the boat invasion at 11 am and their conquering parade after they land at 2 pm.

Named for pirate Jose Gaspar of West Florida during the late 18th and early 19th centuries, Tampa’s annual Gasparilla celebration begins with an invasion of over 750 pirates aboard the majestic “Jose Gasparilla” ship. The invasion kicks off a schedule of pirate themed events.
Once ashore, the captain of the Mystic Krewe of Gasparilla celebrate with a four-mile long pirate parade. This third largest parade in the United States, attended by 300,000, many in pirate dress.
