Susan Hellman Spatafora and Charlotte Johnson: Opera & Dance

Pulling from the works of two trailblazing women artists (Natalia Goncharova and Gertrude Stein), this multi-disciplinary program celebrates the artistic and political strides each made during the late 1800s and early 1900s. Both women challenged gender and societal norms, questioning conventions of the day — seemingly serving as the ultimate rebels. But a close examination of their work, as presented here with soprano Susan Hellman Spatafora and dance artist Charlotte Johnson, explores the inspiration each found in the higher ideals of the early 20th century. Q&A with Spatafora and Johnson after each performance.

Relive the grit and glory of quintessential ’70s British Rock with cult-hit Pink Floyd Laser Spectacular. There’s no better way to celebrate 50 years of Pink Floyd than with this multi-media laser and light extravaganza. The original master recordings of Pink Floyd set the soundtrack for a mind-expanding journey driven by cutting-edge effects, high-powered lasers, and hi-definition big screen video projections. The first half, viewed through 3-D glasses, features Dark Side of the Moon. While the second half, viewed through mind-blowing prism glasses, rocks to Pink Floyd’s The Wall, using imagery from the 1982 film.
